Reporting for the people

Evolving Evolve's Annual reports

Our first piece of work for Evolve was before they had evolved – and were still South London YMCA. We’re now four reports in, refining and honing the story and how we tell it, including taking it online.

Year one used existing photography, showing the range of people who use their services. Their stories challenged stereotypes and preconceptions of homelessness. The newspaper format lent itself to this straightforward approach.

Following the rebrand, we used the new portrait style – people paused at a pivotal moment in their transformation. Both convey the quiet heroism of those who are striving to improve their lives, even when the odds seem overwhelmingly stacked against them.

What they said

“Both have been amazing to work with on a number of really important pieces of communications for our organisation. It’s rare to find an organisation that gets us so completely, I really enjoy their wit and wisdom.”
