Reframing the conversation about life's only certainty

Catholic Bishop’s Conference of England & Wales

With the world embroiled in ethical arguments about euthanasia, the Catholic Church in England decided to reframe the conversation surrounding death towards a discussion about what constitutes a ‘good death’ – the church’s speciality for centuries.

Inspiration came from the Ars Moriendi, a medieval manual providing advice for the dying, their loved ones and their carers, including priests. This modern online version addresses relational, spiritual and practical issues, and speaks to those of the Catholic faith, other faiths and no religious belief.

The site reflects the practical, frank and positive attitude as well as being easily accessible to an older audience.
